Danielle Sepulveda Reid
Owner/General Manager
Danielle comes to the world of Pilates from a very different background. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William & Mary with a BA in Sociology, Danielle spent the next seven years studying and working abroad. As a 1993 Marshall scholar, she pursued graduate studies in the U.K and earned Master's degrees from both Cambridge Unversity and Oxford University. Highlights of her international travel include volunteering in a women's development project for CARE in rural Bangladesh; working for and living with Jane Goodall in Tanzania; serving as the Public Affairs Officer for the United Nations University in Tokyo; and spending two years living in a refugee camp along the Thai-Burmese border and in Bangkok collecting data on the coping strategies of Burmese refugees.
Although initially introduced to Pilates while living in England, upon settling in Atlanta in 2000 she met Davidson, and her passion for the method developed. Danielle completed Power Pilates Beginner and Intermediate Mat in 2002, and went on to complete the Power Pilates Comprehensive teacher training program in 2005. She credits Pilates for helping with her own successful recovery from injuries developed while running competitively in college. Still an avid runner, swimmer and sometime triathlete, she now believes that the strength and flexibility that Pilates provides her is superior to her previous combination of weight lifting and high mileage. Danielle is also passionate about nutrition and is an enthusiastic follower of the Weston A. Price traditional diet as outlined in Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions.
